Berlin 清明茶会 Qing Ming: In Rainy Spring
As April arrives in Berlin, the season shifts into what the ancient Chinese calendar calls Qing Ming—a time when clear light breaks through capricious spring rains, when the air grows tender and the earth awakens. We invite you to celebrate this fleeting moment with us, in collaboration with ceramist Saeam Kwon, whose hand-crafted vessels transform tea into ritual.
This is more than a tea ceremony. It is a gathering where the precision of tradition meets the artistry of contemporary craft. Each cup will be cradled in ceramics born from Saeam's studio, each sip a conversation between leaf, water, and the season itself.
The Three Brews
We will journey through three authentic Chinese whole-leaf teas, each chosen to reflect the spirit of early spring:
- First brew: 白毫银针 White Hair Silver Needle—a delicate white tea, light and fresh, like morning mist
- Second brew: 凤凰单丛 Phoenix Dancong—a fragrant oolong, fruity and pungent, alive with complexity
- Third brew: 凤庆金针 Fengqing Golden Needles—a rich red tea, smoky and layered, grounding the experience
