In the gentle heart of spring, when April's tender days draw to a close, we invite you to join us for a moment of quiet reflection. The Gu Yu — the Grain Rain — arrives each year as nature's whispered promise that summer awaits just beyond the horizon.
This ancient solar term, celebrated for millennia in Chinese tradition, marks the final breath of spring. As the classical poets of the Qing dynasty once wrote, it is a time when the earth awakens and blossoms unfold in their fullest splendor. The rain that falls during these precious days carries with it the essence of renewal, nourishing both the soil and the spirit.
We are honored to welcome you to Frankfurt am Main, in the serene neighborhood of Sachsehausen, where we shall gather to honor this sacred seasonal turning. In collaboration with the gifted ceramist Michiko Shida, we have crafted an intimate tea ceremony that celebrates the delicate balance between earth, water, and time.
